Wine Country fire aid: Restaurants holding fundraisers

Bay Area restaurants are scheduling fundraisers to assist the victims of the disastrous wildfires in Wine Country and beyond. Here’s how you can help (and if you hear of other efforts, let us know at

ITALIAN MEALS: Both locations of Enoteca La Storia will hold weekend fundraisers. At the Los Gatos restaurant (416 N. Santa Cruz Ave.) 10 percent of all meal sales from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, will be donated to the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership in Napa, which is helping coordinate relief efforts there. Alos, 5 percent of retail sales all day will be donated. The downtown location (320 W. St. John St.) will donate proceeds from meal sales there from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct.15; a silent auction is also planned.

FOOD TOURS: Book a future Oakland food tour for 2017 or 2018 with Local Food Adventures by Sunday, Oct. 15, and the company will donate 25 percent of all profits to the F.I.S.H. food bank in Santa Rosa. Applies to gift card purchases also.

FRENCH DINNERS: In San Francisco, two French restaurants — Chez Marius and Le P’tit Laurent — will donate 25 percent of dinner sales Oct. 15-19 to the Red Cross for fire recovery efforts. The former is at 4063 24th St. and the latter at 699 Chenery St.

PIZZA PROCEEDS: Owner Rocco Biale of Rocco’s Ristorante Pizza, 2909 Ignacio Valley Road in Walnut Creek, will donate 25 percent of all proceeds on Thursday, Oct. 19, to the Napa Valley Community Foundation. This applies to both dine-in and take-out orders.

ICED COFFEE: From Friday, Oct. 13, through Sunday, Oct. 15, Blue Bottle Coffee will donate $1 for every New Orleans Iced Coffee sold in its Bay Area cafes to the Redwood Credit Union Community Fund. Find locations in Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, Palo Alto and San Mateo/Bay Meadows.
