For Steven Scott Bradley, building strategic relationships is a key aspect of his business success.
He is the president and CEO of Bradley & Bradley Associates Inc., a Philadelphia-based insurance broker of commercial property and casualty and risk management services. The company serves the insurance needs of charter schools, health care organizations, government agencies, nonprofits and small businesses. He worked at the firm for 15 years.
Bradley has been in the insurance industry since 1981. The Fisk University graduate began his career with the Continental Insurance Company and went on to become president and CEO of Watlington & Cooper, Inc., one of the oldest minority-owned brokerage firms in the region.
Bradley founded his company in 2001 and enjoys being able to call his own shots as an insurance broker.
“What I love about insurance is you get to determine your own destination,” he said. “I work hard. The more accounts I have, the more commission I make. It’s been very fulfilling for me. I like the freedom. I like that fact that I could give money to causes that I believe in.”
Bradley focuses on cultivating relationships and building his brand throughout the business community.
“It’s about developing trust and relationships with people,” said Bradley, who is a native of Sharon Hill. “It’s about creating a legacy so that people feel good about doing business with Bradley & Bradley, so they feel like it’s a partnership. It’s about integrity, service and creating a legacy and being competitive. I think that’s why I’ve have been successful for so long.”
