Shape-Shifting Sound, Digital Assistants And the Future of Automotive Tech

CES in Las Vegas remains THE best place to get a first look at a huge range of electronics heading your way in the year ahead. Recently, Tech Expert and TV Personality, Steve Greenberg, teamed with YourUpdateTV and HARMAN at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas to show off some of his favorite new gadgets, electronics, and cutting-edge automotive tech.

First up is the Rinspeed Concept Car. It’s basically a high tech self-driving chassis with changeable “pods” to personalize the interior space. So, your car of the future would not only transportation but also a classroom, or an office, or theater. This concept has been built together with HARMAN — who is a specialist car technology– to demonstrate how we can get back more productive time in our daily commutes when autonomous cars become the norm.

Another near-future product is Shape-Shifting Car Speakers. These are part of a customizable system designed for ride-share vehicles, like Uber and Lyft, and they literally change shape and sound depending on what the user wants to experience. So, it can go from high performance JBL sound to the more refined sound of Harman Kardon – the passenger controls the experience.

Moving to what will be available to consumers THIS year—

JBL Xtreme 2 – ($299.95) this powerful speaker is designed for roughing it—it’s waterproof—2 different users can connect to the same speaker—and another cool feature– up to 100 of these speakers can be linked together for a BIG event—and BIG SOUND.
