Robert Lewandowski confident his Bayern Munich contract will be extended

Poland striker Robert Lewandowski has stated that he is in no rush to renew his contract with German giants Bayern Munich, and is confident that an agreement will be reached.

The striker is currently in contract with the Bavarian club until 2019, having joined them from Borussia Dortmund in 2014, but has been told by executive chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge that he should not expect a ‘crazy’ wage rise with any new deal.

He has since netted 73 times in 103 appearances for the current Bundesliga champions, and is considered a key player by coach Carlo Ancelloti, who ruled out selling him this summer.
