Robert M. Rosenthal, a shareholder of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Albany Environmental Practice, has been named chapter chair of the Capital Region of the New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV). NYLCV is non-partisan and the only environmental organization in New York State that fights for clean water, clean air, renewable energy, and open space through political action.
Rosenthal focuses his practice on environmental and energy law matters, including litigation and permitting. He is experienced with the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act and associated state programs, the New York Solid Waste Management Act, and the New York Public Service Law. He also concentrates his practice on State Environmental Quality Review Act review, toxic tort litigation and the governmental, environmental, and energy aspects of land use and real estate development.
Rosenthal has been recognized for his legal achievements including being listed in U.S. News-Best Lawyers and also received the Louis J. Lefkovitz Memorial Award for Governmental Environmental Attorney of the Year. Prior to joining the firm, Rosenthal served as the assistant counsel for Energy and Environment in the New York Governor’s Office and senior counsel in the New York Attorney General’s Office Environmental Protection Bureau.
