Officials say an off-duty Las Vegas police officer killed when a gunman shot from a hotel into an open-air music festival crowd will be remembered with full departmental honors.

Charleston Hartfield’s memorial procession Friday morning will go through downtown and down the Las Vegas Strip and past the site of the Oct. 1 massacre that became the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

Fifty-eight people died and police say nearly 550 were injured.

Hartfield’s funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Central Christian Church in Henderson.

He was 34, married and a father of two. He was also a military veteran who served in the U.S. Army in Iraq.

Police say an afternoon motorcade will go from the church to Boulder City for private graveside services at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
