Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: The final game of this four-game interleague play series was Thursday night with the Atlanta Braves falling to the Toronto Blue Jays. This wasn’t even a game from the top of the 1st inning on. What was hyped up to be a terrific game and maybe some action, turned into a nightmare game for the Braves.
Julio Teheran continues to struggle in front of the home crowd. Which is strange because last year he was dominating opposing teams at home. Maybe he’s having trouble with the new mound at SunTrust Park or the atmosphere or something. Hopefully, he figures it out, soon.
Braves offense didn’t help Teheran out last night either…they couldn’t get the timely hits they needed and left the night with seven hits. Toronto’s starting pitcher Marcus Stroman seemed to be on a different planet last night and we couldn’t figure him out.
The entire team, coaches, announcers all seemed deflated after the news about Freddie Freeman and it showed on the field.
Braves lose 9-0
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Blue Jays third baseman, Josh Donaldson, has been out since April with an injured calf so he wasn’t able to be a part of this wonderful Jay/Braves series. He was, though, somewhere watching the game because he tweeted the below laughter after Marcus Stroman hit his first career home run off Julio Teheran.
What made me laugh though was all the Braves comments on his tweet. Braves fam on twitter have been hot since the start of this series and grew more and more with each hit batters (seven in the series).
The Braves took three out of four against the Jays so we should have our heads high…except for the Freddie deal. Toronto and Atlanta are not scheduled to play each other again this season (hardly doubt these two will meet in the World Series in 2017).
Josh Donaldson is not playing for the Blue Jays, but he is getting a nice dose of entertainment from his team.
The Toronto third…
